The Serene Winter Charm of Yeoncheon Horogoru
A peaceful winter journey to Yeoncheon Horogoru(연천 호로고루). Witness the stark and majestic beauty of the ancient Goguryeo(고구려) fortress under the cold winter sky, where the golden fields meet the silent Imjin-gang River(임진강).
Under the cold winter wind, Yeoncheon Horogoru(연천 호로고루) revealed its quiet and majestic charm. The absence of green grass highlighted the solid, ancient stone walls, making the history of Goguryeo(고구려) feel even more profound. The golden-brown fields under the vast sky created a serene atmosphere that only winter can provide.

Walking along the path through the withered grass toward the fortress wall was a contemplative experience. The minimalist landscape, stripped of its summer colors, allowed me to focus entirely on the texture of the stones and the sound of the wind.

After climbing the stairs to the top of the fortress wall, the cold and tranquil Imjin-gang River(임진강) comes into view, winding around the silent fortress. Looking down, the steps that led me up here are slightly visible, blending into the vast, open landscape. It is the perfect place to appreciate the scenery in its most honest form.

Although it lacks the vibrant colors of other seasons, the winter scenery of Yeoncheon-gun(연천군) has its own unique strength. The silence of the ancient site provided a much-needed break from the busy world.
