Honam-jip: A Lively Food Stall at Gimpo Bukbyeon Market
Experience the authentic charm of Bukbyeon-oiljang(북변오일장) in Gimpo(김포) at the famous food stall, Honam-jip(호남집). Known for its appearance on popular YouTube channels, this spot offers a unique atmosphere where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled Deung-galbi(등갈비) and Mechuri-gui(메추리 구이).
Bukbyeon-oiljang(북변오일장) in Gimpo(김포) is a traditional market with a vibrant atmosphere, and the food stall Honam-jip(호남집) is one of its most popular spots. It has gained much attention after being featured by famous food YouTubers, which is proudly displayed on the promotional banners at the entrance.

The menu is displayed on a large banner, offering a wide array of nostalgic market foods. To kick off the meal, I ordered a bottle of Jinro Soju(진로 소주), which came with Kimchi(김치) and various dipping sauces.

The true highlight begins when the Deung-galbi(등갈비) is placed over authentic charcoal. Alongside the ribs, the Mechuri-gui(메추리 구이) offers a savory and distinct flavor that truly represents the food stall culture of a traditional market.

Since it was winter, the smoke inside the tent was quite challenging to deal with, and the smell lingered on my clothes for several days. However, the fun of dining at a five-day market food stall was undeniable. If the ventilation issues are improved, I would definitely love to visit again.
