A Quiet Lunch at Gyomaek Makguksu in Paju
A peaceful lunch escape to Gyomaek Makguksu(교맥 막국수) in Paju(파주). Warming up with a giant portion of Mul-makguksu(물막국수) and tender Suyuk(수육) on a cold winter day.
I had lunch at Gyomaek Makguksu(교맥 막국수) in Paju(파주) on a cold day. Since I arrived after the lunch rush, the restaurant was calm and pleasantly quiet.

A tablet installed on each table made browsing the menu and ordering very convenient. I ordered the Mul-makguksu-jeongsik(물막국수 정식) Gopbaegi(곱배기).

The utensils were cleanly packaged, leaving a tidy first impression. The meal started with simple side dishes and warm buckwheat tea. It was a cold day, and the tea gently warmed me up.

The set menu includes a mini portion of Suyuk(수육). It was served first and paired perfectly with the anticipation of the main dish.

Then came the Mul-makguksu(물막국수). Since I ordered the Gopbaegi(곱배기), the portion was much larger than I expected. Halfway through the meal, I slightly regretted my ambitious choice!

There is a dedicated waiting area near the entrance. Judging by this space, I expect the restaurant gets very busy during peak lunch hours or on weekends.
