A Hearty Winter Bowl at Bakcheon Sundae-guk
A second visit to the legendary Bakcheon Sundae-guk(박천순대국) in Gimpo(김포). Experience the deep history since 1979 through their unique Toryeom(토렴) style soup and a generous serving of Osori-gamtu(오소리감투) and Meorigogi(머리고기).
On January 2, 2026, I made my second visit to Bakcheon Sundae-guk(박천순대국). The roadside sign and the restaurant's exterior, which proudly displays "Since 1979," clearly show the long history and tradition of this place.

On each table, there are small jars filled with Kimchi(김치) and Kkakdugi(깍두기), so you can enjoy as much as you want. Fresh garlic and chili are also served, making it a perfect setup for a hearty meal.

There is a notice asking customers to request Toryeom(토렴) when ordering if they prefer it. Toryeom(토렴) is a traditional method where hot broth is poured over rice or noodles repeatedly to warm and soften them, a technique developed to serve warm meals before modern heating devices existed.

I ordered a combination of Osori-gamtu(오소리감투) and Meorigogi(머리고기). While each dish is priced at 15,000 KRW, you can order them half-and-half to enjoy both at once, which was very satisfying.

When you order Osori-gamtu(오소리감투) or Meorigogi(머리고기), a bowl of Sulguk(술국) is served together. Finally, the main Sundae-guk(순대국) with its clear broth rounded out the meal perfectly.

It was a deeply satisfying visit that showcased the true taste of a long-standing tradition.
