A Haven for Lee Chan-won Fans: Jirisan in Yangchon-eup

Experience a unique dining atmosphere at Jirisan(지리산) in Yangchon-eup(양촌읍), Gimpo(김포). While the Dwaeji-galbi(돼지갈비) is a staple, the restaurant's overwhelming dedication to trot singer Lee Chan-won and its flavorful, diverse side dishes make it a memorable destination.

A Haven for Lee Chan-won Fans: Jirisan in Yangchon-eup

1. Entering a Trot Legend's Fan Sanctuary

Jirisan(지리산) in Yangchon-eup(양촌읍) caught my attention due to the prominent X-banner of trot singer Lee Chan-won at the entrance. I initially mistook it for a franchise featured in a TV show, but I later learned they are unrelated. Upon entering, the interior felt like a local fan club headquarters, filled with his photos and fan items, creating a very unique and interesting vibe for any visitor.

2. A Clean and Diverse Spread of Side Dishes

The true highlight of this restaurant was the impressive variety of side dishes. From Gat-kimchi(갓김치) and Doraji-muchim(도라지무침) to Kkaet-nip-jangajji(깻잎장아찌) and Sukju-namul-muchim(숙주나물무침), every dish felt carefully prepared. The spread was exceptionally diverse for a rib house, providing a clean and satisfying start to the meal.

3. Grilling the Marinated Dwaeji-galbi

The main course was Dwaeji-galbi(돼지갈비). While the taste was ordinary, it was still a satisfying meal. An interesting way to enjoy it was grilling the Dwaeji-galbi(돼지갈비) along with Doraji-muchim(도라지무침) on the same plate. The smoky aroma of the charcoal infused into the meat made it a classic Korean BBQ experience.

4. Exceptional Stew and the Themed Soju

The service Doenjang-jjigae(된장찌개) was unexpectedly delicious, offering a deep and rich flavor that paired perfectly with rice. Another surprise was receiving two bottles of Cham(참) soju instead of the usual brand. It turns out that Lee Chan-won is the model for the Cham(참) brand, making this choice very fitting for the restaurant's theme.

5. An Unexpected Encounter and Final Thoughts

During the meal, I noticed a large dog sleeping under a nearby chair. While the dog was calm, I had minor concerns regarding hygiene inside a restaurant. Overall, Jirisan(지리산) offers decent food, but the overwhelming presence of Lee Chan-won is what truly defines the experience, providing more than just a regular dining out.
